蘑菇视频 Ada Society is a space for women and gender minorities to meet, hang out and support each other, and get support from teachers in the face of the specific challenges we face in Computer Science. Women Techmakers Montreal (WTM) conference (April 2025)
Women Techmakers聽 Montreal () is an extension of the Google Women Techmakers program designed to highlight talented and passionate women in Montreal鈥檚 technological community. They organize a conference every year in April where women in the field of computer science give talks, workshops and networking events
For the past two years, the Dawson Ada society sponsored tickets for our students to attend the conference. Last year, a high number of 14 students and two teachers attended the WTM conference using funds obtained from the SAGE. 聽The event was reported on D News: /news/dnews-issues/2025-05-01/
Some feedback from students who attended last year:
This conference really pushed me to be a little more outside my comfort zone. I got to know about a lot of incredible people here and it was really interesting to hear about the current AI landscape.
This was indeed my first tech (or any) big conference, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. My biggest takeaway was that it鈥檚 okay to just show up, be curious, and talk to people. I learned that networking doesn鈥檛 have to be scary, it can just be conversations with others who are excited and interested about the same things. And I also had a lot of fun!
I had a good time overall! It was really nice meeting and talking to other women in tech as well as other Dawson students from other years. Getting out of my comfort zone was a bit difficult at first but I got more comfortable as the day went on.
Ada Lovelace Day (October 2025)
On October 9 and 10, 2025, the Dawson Ada Society celebrate锘�d Ada Lovelace Day by making posters, reading and discussing a fun comic by Sydney Padua about Ada Lovelace.
Students across the years came together to play games and chat with their peers and teachers!
